Schlereth Replaces Slaten on D-backs Roster

Daniel Schlereth was called in to play major league baseball after playing for the University of Arizona.

Schelereth was the Double-A Mobile’s top pick for the year 2008 during the draft. Schlereth has joined the Diamondbacks relief pitchers dugout. Daniel said that he feels happy, surprised, exited and blessed all at once.

Schelereth admits to having trouble with his fastball control, but his strength and overall pitching accuracy give him some leighway in his fastball ability.

It took Daniel Schlereth less than one year to advance to the majors after getting selected 26th overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks last June. Schlereth will once again team with Clay Zavada, with whom he played in Mobile, and the two will serve as the D-backs' left-handed options out of the bullpen.
